Another casting has been announced for S2 of Game Of Thrones.

Irish actor Fintan McKeown has been cast in the role of Ser Amory Lorch. Lorch is a brutal bannerman of House Lannister, considered by many second in viciousness to Gregor Clegane. In the books Lorch was the knight who killed 4 year old Rhaeny’s Targaryan during the sack of Kings Landing, he is part of Clegane’s band that is raping and pillaging through the Riverlands. He is in command of the soldiers who attack the company under Yoren heading for the Wall, the company that includes Arya Stark.

In other news it has now been confirmed that the role of Gregor Clegane has been recast.

Ian Whyte has been cast as the replacement to Conan Stevens – who played Gregor in 2 episodes of S1. Whyte has already appeared on screen, he was the White Walker/Other seen in the opening minutes of the first episode, cutting the head off a Nights Watch Ranger.

It is unclear why Gregor has been recast, on the Winter Is Coming website Conan Stevens has posted a comment that he didn’t know about it until he read it on their site. The main reason seems to be Stevens’ workload – filming The Hobbit and episodes of Spartacus S2 – both being filmed a long way from Northern Ireland.
